If you’ve recently purchased your first ATV trailer, you may not realize that your new equipment will need some accessories to successfully haul your gear. Before you try loading your ATV into your trailer or hitching it to your vehicle, be sure to read our helpful article below to learn about some things you’ll need so you can hit the road.

Hauling Accessories

In order to safely haul your ATV, you’ll need a few helpful accessories to keep your vehicle in place. Before you load your model up into the bed, it’s important to have a set of wheel chocks and tie-down cords on hand. These will keep your vehicle from slipping, sliding, or falling out of the bed as you drive. If your ATV trailer doesn't come with ramps included, you’ll need to buy a set of those as well. Without them, it’s nearly impossible to load your heavy vehicle into your trailer.

Towing Accessories

To successfully tow your trailer and its cargo, you’ll need more than just a hitch and a tow vehicle. We recommend buying a handy set of tow chains as well as some helpful pin locks. A majority of ATV trailers also include tail lights and brake lights to adhere to local road laws. If this is the case for your model, you’ll need to purchase a trailer auxiliary wire to ensure the lights function correctly. Once this wire is connected, your trailer’s lights will flick on every time you brake or use your turning signal.
